Today was a good day for
Miss Evin who turned 1 week old at 8:06 pm!
Last night was the “smooth rollercoaster” that we were looking for and
today she has been recovering nicely.
The doctors have been pleased with her progress and so have Mommy and
Daddy!
Highlights of the day:
-They put her back on IV
fluids that will give her nutrition. She
was on these fluids before the surgery.
-They have been decreasing
her ventilator settings and she is now breathing on room air.
- If all goes as planned
they are looking to take her off the ventilator and take the tube out of her
nose tomorrow!
-They removed her chest
tube today.
-They have been weaning her
off sedation so she has been moving more and more and opened her eyes to look
around over an hour today!
I attached a picture of her
opening up her little peepers and another of her snoozing after getting a bath,
new bedding, and a new headband from the nurse.
Please continue to pray for
Evin as we are on the road to recovery, but we still have some critical hurdles
to jump.
Mitch & Kori
Trying to keep her as comfy as possible after surgery. The little rooster was put in her bed by her nurse during the night. :) |
We were so excited to see these little eyes! Mitch and I were in her face, eating up every bit of her. |
