Today was a quieter day at the hospital due to
it being a Sunday and a holiday. It was
nice for Evin to get some good rest today.
She had a great Easter!
-This morning doctors decided to lower the
amount of oxygen she was receiving through her nasal cannula. She tolerated it so well after they lowered
it, that they took her off all oxygen.
She has been breathing completely on her own all day! Now we get to see even more of her pretty
little face without the tubes in her nose!
-The doctor upped Evin’s feeds to 10mL per hour
this morning and then to 12mL per hour tonight.
She seems to be digesting it all just fine.
-They stopped all of her remaining meds via IV
and now she is just receiving saline with a little bit of Heparin through her
central line in order to keep it open.
-Her chest x-rays looked great and they stopped
the breathing treatments she was receiving.
-We were told by the doctor today that we
should meet with a speech therapist in the morning to discuss the feeding
process with Evin and make sure she is ready to begin bottle feeding. Hopefully after that we will get to go back
to the NICU! The doctors will make their
rounds tomorrow morning and they should let us know then if we get to go back.
Overall, today was a wonderful day for
Evin! She had lots of tubes/IVS removed,
we got to hold her and she got lots of Easter goodies from our families (see
picture). :) Stay strong, little girl!
Pray for a move back to the NICU tomorrow and
that the speech therapist thinks she is ready to begin the bottle feeding
process.

Evin's first Easter. She got quite the loot and Mommy and Daddy didn't even buy anything this year. Big thanks to her wonderful grandparents and aunt! |
