Christmas Day & Christmas with The Armstrongs

Mitch had to work on Christmas Day (do you see a theme in the last few posts?), so Evin and I slept in.  We woke up and played a little bit, before heading to Mums' house.  Mums had ordered Evin a little 4-wheeler for Christmas, but it didn't come in by the time we had our Christmas with her.  It was ready to go on Christmas morning, so Evin got it then.

She played on it for awhile, happily ate breakfast, and then read a few books.

One of Evin's favorite things was looking at Mums' ceramic Nativity while playing, "Where's Mary/Baby Jesus/shepherd/etc?"  She was actually pretty good at it!

Sweet girl.

Cheeeeese. :)

We headed home for the rest of the day and got ready to host the Armstrong Christmas at our house.  Mitch's parents were in the middle of a move, so we offered to have Christmas at our house.
Evin was ready for everyone to come over for dinner and gifts!

Love!

Alex & Elizabeth gave Evin an adorable reading tent.

She loved it!

Blurry, but look at how happy she is!

Becks enjoyed opening his gifts.

Mia did, too!

E opened lots of gifts...

...and so did everyone else.

Hangin' with PawPaw, Beckham, & GiGi

Two pretty smiles!

Evin's LARGEST gift was opened last.

A PLAY KITCHEN! :)

She loved checking out all the cabinets, knobs and gadgets on her new kitchen.  I love seeing her "cook" up a storm with it!

Christmas Eve

Mitch had to work on Christmas Eve, so Evin and I went to the Christmas Eve church service without him.  Pictures of her lately are HARD.  I can work for 20+ minutes of her and not get a single good one.

It's nothing less than a miracle that I got this picture.

Our star struggled a little this until Mitch got home to fix it...but we are both looking and smiling.  WIN!

After church, we headed back home and waited for Daddy to get off work.  While we were in another room, Santa came and dropped of some gifts for Evin. :)

She was thrilled to get a wagon...

...a new baby doll and stroller....

...and a talking Minnie Mouse.

The stroller and baby were definitely her favorites.  She played with these all night!

So happy to take care of her baby.

In her stocking she got a few books...

...a little play purse with sunglasses, makeup, a credit card, and keys, and several other goodies.

Little Sassy wanted to wear her purse while pushing her baby.  She had trouble keeping it on her shoulder, so she ended up just holding her arm in the air to keep it on.  This presented some problems while trying to push the stroller with one hand.  Ha!

She opened her gifts from Mommy and Daddy, and had fun playing with her new toys.
Notice Beckham, helping open her gifts.  Evin thought it was funny this year, but I can see this making her mad in the future!

Our little family of 3 had the perfect night celebrating at home.  By this time, Evin was becoming a Christmas pro, and we still had 2 more Christmas celebrations to come!

Christmas with Mums

In years past, we have celebrated Christmas with my mom on Christmas Eve.  This year, Mitch worked on Christmas Eve, Christmas day, and the 2 days after.  We had to be creative with our Christmas celebrations this year!

We did Christmas with Mums on the 23rd.  The kids (mostly Lane since he is the only one who understood!) wanted to open a gift right away, so they got to open one before we ate dinner.

He was a little disappointed when he thought he got a box of diapers...

...but he was rather thrilled when he found Imaginex inside!

Thanks, Mums!

Evin chose to open some Little Mermaid Little People from The Coots.

We had a break for our traditional soup dinner.  As usual, it was delicious!

Professional gift-passer-outer.
And oh-so-cute.

Kyle and his sweet girl

Lane picked out this sweet necklace for his Mommy.

Both dads were on camera duty!

Crazy for Play-doh!

Sleepy Ellis was pooped out and ready for a bottle!

Cute monogrammed vest for Kyla...

...and one for me, too!

small, medium, large

Evin jumped in to help Ellis open her gift.

And caused some problems while Mums tried to open hers.

Little stinker!

The three amigos.
Evin loves them both so much!

Perfect pic.

Our family of 3.

She was so proud to be sitting next to him. :)

I predict many hours will be spent playing with her Little People Doll House.

Tolerating a little pinch by her cuz...

and another grab...

...Ellis brought her in for a kiss.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
