2 year pictures

In May, Kyla accepted the challenge to take Evin's 2 year pictures (a little late).  The combination of Kyla & her camera has some weird effect on Evin, and she makes it nearly impossible to get good pictures.  Luckily, Kyla is talented and has a quick finger, and she can quickly capture the few moments when Evin will look in her general direction and smile/look pleasant.  I love the ones she got this year and was extremely pleased to get a new family picture to replace an old canvas in our house.
Enjoy!

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day this year by going to church, having lunch with Mums & Lane (the K&K were out of town), and having dinner with the Armstrongs.

Being this little girl's momma is the greatest privilege I've ever had!

Helping Mums open her gifts.

Showing Mums how she painted the "flowers" on the pot using her hand.
She was not excited about getting paint on her hand for this project.  She actually threw a fit through the first few handprints, and then decided she kind of liked it, and would just do it all by herself.  Making them was quite the experience!

Sitting like a lady with her Mums, who she adores!

The feeling is mutual. :)

Lane looks to be about 10 years old in the picture.  He's too big!

Later in the day we went to GiGi & PawPaw's house.  Evin, of course helped Granny & GiGi open their presents.

She got in some time with Pa (and probably snagged a few jellybeans while she was at it!).

E loves spending time with her GiGi!

We are SO happy to have Granny & Pa living close.  I love that Evin has the relationship with them that she does and that she gets to see them on a regular basis.

We had a fun day celebrating all the mothers that we love so dearly!

May

I kicked off the month of May by receiving this note from one of my students.
He so proudly handed it to me and waited for me to read it.  I tried to stifle my giggles while I thanked him for it, and then in my head I quickly planned a lesson for the following morning on humility. ;)
Sidenote- I love how he has noticed that there is a form of "your" that is spelled "you're".  He even put an apostrophe in there!

So proud of her Minnie shirt.

My mom bought us Six Flags season passes this year.  We took Evin for the first time in May and stayed for a couple of hours.  Evin loved it!  Her favs were the carousel and a little train ride.  She did NOT like the Looney Toons ride.

My mom and I each got a fresh squeezed lemonade, and this was probably Evin's other favorite part.  She is lucky to have a Mums that loves to share!

WORN OUT with the lemonade straw hanging out of her mouth.

Sweet Daddy with his girl, sharing snowcones.

Evin and I met up with my girlfriends for lunch.

E is always slow to warm up, but one day I know she will join in on the "girl talk" with Julie, Lauren & Courtney.

A little post-church photo-op.

I love this picture of Evin.  Her sweet little smile, her smocked piggies, and her pink bow.  Perfectly girly and sweet!

She's got some growing to do!

Evin is ALWAYS happy to have a visit from Lane and Ellis.  She loves them both so much and I catch her doing things to mimic each of them.  Monkey see, monkey do!

Mums kept Lane and Evin for a couple of days and I think Evin was pretty pleased to have a playmate.
Dining al fresco with her buddy.

Alex & Elizabeth had to make a quick decision in May because Elizabeth was offered a great internship in Indianapolis.  The packed up their belongings and headed out, but not before having a farewell dinner and posing for a few silly pictures with Ev.

This girl loves her some Peppa Pig lately.

When she does this, you know she is sick.  She never falls asleep anywhere except for her crib and occasionally in her car seat.

Poor baby.

Doctoring up her babies.

How big does she look here?!  Mums found a Peppa Pig shirt for her, and she was so proud to wear it.

Every year the company Mitch works for offers their employees tickets to a Ranger game.  We took Evin this year, and it was her first game ever!

We had pretty low expectations for how long Evin would last during the game.  Luckily, our seats were in the all-you-can-eat section.  We could get unlimited hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts and drinks to keep her happy.  And on top of that we got her cotton candy. :)

She lasted to the 7th inning and we had a good time!

E enjoyed showing off for her audience at Little Gym.

On Memorial Day, we went with GiGi, PawPaw, Granny & Pa to Chuck E Cheese.  Evin was a wild woman, running from ride to ride.
Hangin' with good ol' Chuck.

Such a cute jockey!

A three day weekend is just what I needed to get in some extra time with my hubby and this girl.

Dinner at Cotton Patch always means pony rides.

We went to a gender reveal party for some friends and they had blue and pink rock candy.  Evin scarfed it down and wanted more.  She gets her love of rock candy from her aunt, Kyla.

That side-eye...

I have a feeling we could have this exact same picture when she is about 15 years old.

E loves Miss Rae!

It was Evin's final week of this session at Little Gym, so she got a certificate and a medal.

Playing her "drums" and singing the goodbye song.

Right after their class is over, they can all line up and get stamps.  Every single week, Evin runs out and is the first one to wait for her stamps.  Then, she stands back and watches as everyone else gets theirs.  SO NOSY and loves to watch other people.

Finally, she stepped up for her turn.  Stamps on both hands, feet, and her tummy, of course.

Right after her Little Gym class, we had dinner with Mums and then ran into Dillards to get Evin some new tennis shoes.  While we were waiting for them to bring out her size to try on, Evin got a little restless in the stroller.  My mom started doing various things to distract her, and ended up picking up a pair of glittery pink Michael Kors flip flops to try on Evin.  Evin hasn't ever worn sandals with the strap between the toe, and we were sure she wouldn't like how they felt on her foot.  My mom put one of them on, basically just to keep her occupied, and Evin immediately asked for her to put the other one on.  Then she wanted down, so she could walk around.  My mom said, "Oh, Evin, they aren't going to be comfortable for you to walk in."  She pranced all over the place in them.  When it was time to pay for the other shoes and leave, Evin threw a huge fit when we tried to take the pink sandals off.  My mom ended up buying glittery pink Michael Kors flip flops for Evin.

And here she is, screaming on the way home because she took them off her feet and couldn't get them back on.

Right after her bath we had to put them back on, so she could admire them some more.

Rather pleased with herself.
And now in nearly every picture, Evin will be wearing her pink sandals, because she refuses to wear anything else.

Helping Daddy pick out a new binder for school.  She wanted him to get "pink!"

Turning into a little blondie in the summer sun.

The Snowdens were in town for a day, and these crazy girls loved riding in the carts at Kroger.
