My Paw + Week in Photos- 18 months 3 weeks

{October 1st-7th}

The end of the previous week and this week were hard.  On September 29th, very early in the morning, my Paw passed away in his sleep.  He was a World War II hero, a Purple Heart recipient, so very generous, stubborn, and the funniest man I've met.  I am so grateful to have many, many amazing memories with him.  He was the best of the best.

We attended his service on October 1st and some Brady residents had planned a nice lunch for us after.

Later that week...
Evin has become very interested in her bows lately.  One of her favorite activities is to rip them all off of the hanger on her wall.  Fun...

This little smirk makes me laugh out loud...

Ready to cheer on the Aggies!

I had some {cute} company with me on my weekly Target trip.
:)

Look at this big girl with her ponytail.  I can hardly believe she is this big!

Evin discovered Ellis' baby seat while she was at Mums' house.

She was a frequent visitor to this chair!
Just relaxing and watching a little Mickey Mouse.

These girls...I can't wait for them to grow up together!

Week in Photos- 18 months 2 weeks

{September 24th-30th}

Getting better at using a fork and a spoon.  Notice she is eating Mexican rice.  One of her favorites!

Little girl keeps us on our toes lately.  She is pretty shy while in public, but at home she can be a wild woman!

Enjoying a park visit!  She is there quite often here recently, and she kind of thinks she owns the place.

She and the little critter on her shirt kind of resemble each other.  ;)

At the park...again!  Mommy got to go this time, though.  It was fun to see her doing something she normally does while I am at work.  She showed off by going down the slide and going across the big steps with Daddy.

Evin had her 18 month appointment this week.  I took a half day off work so I could go.  She weighed 20.6 lbs (25%) and was 30 1/2 inches long (25%).
I am typing this almost 2 months after we had this appointment (yikes- I'm so behind!), so I don't remember all the details of the discussions we had that day.  I do remember asking the doc about Evin's speech, and he said he is not concerned.  He said that as long as she understands what we are saying to her (which she does) the words will start following eventually.

Week in Photos- 18 months 1 week

{September 17th-23rd}

Evin started going to Miss Melissa's this week.  Melissa kept Lane when he was little, and she keeps another little girl that is 2 months younger than Evin.  My mom takes her to Melissa's in the morning, then comes out to help me at school, and then picks her up in the afternoon.  We are stating out slow, so Evin is only spending a few hours over there right now.

Evin meeting Kinsley.  She's not too sure what to think!

She did ok for it being her first time staying with someone who isn't family.  She is VERY concerned with what Kinsley is doing and cried a couple of times.  Melissa said Evin cried less than she thought she would and that Kinsley was less possessive than she thought she would be, so she considered it a success!

Posing on her 18 month birthday.  She's 1.5 years old- how did that happen?!?!

Mitch's cousin, Brandon, has a 3rd grade boy that plays football in Brady.  They had the opportunity to play a couple of games at Cowboy's Stadium, so we went to cheer him on.  He did great and ran one in for a touchdown!  Go Keats!

We got to tour the stadium and go on the field.  It was a fun afternoon!

I love her little shirt that says, "My heart is made of gold."
We laugh because as much money as it has cost, you would seriously think it is made of gold. ;)

Taking a little rest while grocery shopping with Mommy.  She does great, as long as she has snacks!

Week in Photos- 17 months 4 weeks

{September 10th-16th}

One of Evin's FAVORITE things to do is get into the pantry and give the dogs treats.
Step 1- Beg for someone to open the door

Step 2- Reach in to grab treats

Step 3- Give Beckham his treat
Beckham always gets his treat first.  For some reason that I will never be able to figure out, Evin loves Beckham so much more than she loves Mia.  Which is strange because Beckham is our grouchy old dog who doesn't care for Evin at all (except for when she is handing out treats or is eating).  Mia is very sweet and tolerant of Evin.

Step 4- Give Mia a treat.  Or sometimes not.
Occasionally, if Evin is in a sassy mood, she will hold Mia's treat behind her back until we force her to give it to Mia.  Little toot!!!

Oh, but we love her.

Can you tell we had crazy weather this week?  Wearing long sleeves and pants 1 day and a bubble another!
Being a happy Sam's shopper with Mums.

We had dinner at Mellow Mushroom and they have this incredible, huge kaleidoscope outside.

So pretty!  Evin loved it.

Silly girl!

Stylin' in some new fall gear.  And proudly displaying her little tum-tum. :)

We had lunch and did some shopping with Mums this weekend.
She is the HAPPIEST girl when she gets a full tummy.

Little sprigs in her hair are just the best.  She is not a fan of sitting still for me to fix it though.  I usually have to give her my phone to play with in order for her to hold still that long.  Sometimes that doesn't even work!

We had the best time this afternoon stacking her cups so she could push the tower over.

Her reaction was priceless.

She made this face every.single.time.

Someone stole my smoothie at Target and thought she was hot stuff.  She drank way more than I did.

My mom ordered Evin some brown shoes that have the squeakers in them.  This was the first time Evin wore them out, and just in case you can't tell, she loved them. :)
