Week in Photos- 51 weeks old

 {March 12th-19th}

This was kind of a crazy week!  It was the end of spring break, Evin's 1st birthday party (more on that later!) and I started a long-term substitute job the day after Evin's party.

This was one of those outfits I bought long before Evin was born, and I've been waiting for her to wear it!  It is size 6-9 month, and it finally fits. :)

She started having Cheerios soaked in milk for breakfast.  Yum!

I can't seem to get through a diaper change these days without her wanting to sit up and look at herself in the mirror!

I love these little sparkly Toms shoes!

I think I've mentioned before how Evin must inspect her food before she will put it, or allow you to put it in her mouth.  I think she must think we are trying to poison her!

Taste-testing Mommy's ice cream.

It was lip-smackin' good!

She loves to fall asleep in her car seat right before we get where we are going.  Then, when we get home to take a nap, she says, "No, thanks!"

Crazy about her cousin, Lane.  Lane recently told his Mommy, "Evin is really great.  She is great at standing, crawling, and sitting on the rug at Mums' house.  She's also great at being quiet while sitting in her car seat.  She's just really great."  Such a funny guy!

Our almost 1 year old!

She's typically not that messy of an eater.  Not this night!  Blackberry juice quickly turned into finger paint.

And she learned the fine art of squishing them between her hands.  Aye aye aye.

She is cruising from toys to furniture and all over the place these days.

Peek-a-boo. :)

Worked her way around the table to get to one of her favorites- the remote.  Of course, she knows she isn't supposed to have it!

Look at how red her little arm is.  It is from army crawling everywhere!

Testing out her new wheels GiGi and PawPaw gave her at her birthday party.

 I think she's pretty proud!

She snuck away from me while I was doing the dishes and I found her in her room reading.  It is almost guaranteed that when this happens I can either find her in the bathroom trying to open cabinets, or in her room reading.  My little bookworm!

Happy Birthday, Evin!

Evin Kate,

Today, my little miracle baby, you are an entire year old!

A year ago I was going to the doctor to check for progress and was sent to the hospital to welcome you into the world.  I had such a rush of excitement to meet you!  I wondered what you would look like and what your little personality would be like.  I couldn’t wait to meet you!

I loved you the minute I found out I was pregnant with you and that love multiplied when you were born.  I thought it couldn’t get any stronger, but the more I know you, the more I love you!

A whole year ago little 6-pound-14-ounce-you entered the world.  There were times this year seemed to drag by as we were waiting and stressing about your upcoming surgery.  After your repair, the days have gone by in fast forward.  I desperately need time to slow down!  While I love to watch you learn & grow, I hate to see time fly by so quickly.

You are the perfect balance of sweet and sassy, and you make us laugh constantly.  Even though you are timid in public or in large groups, you have quite the personality at home and you are not afraid to “share” your opinion with us.  You are really an easy baby, minus that whole heart surgery thing you put us through. ;)

On this day 1 year ago, you entered the world and stole our hearts.  You have taken us on the wildest rollercoaster ride, but it has been the best year of our lives.  Before you were born I selected a Bible verse to print and frame for your nursery.

“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.”

-Philippians 11:3

I think I chose this verse for a reason.  You are our precious miracle and every single day we thank God for YOU!

We love love love you, sweet girl!

Week in Photos- 50 weeks old

 {March 5th-March11th}

Evin and I met some of my friends for lunch one day.  Evin got an early birthday present- some cute spring/summer clothes!

Evin with my college roomies!  She enjoyed our girls lunch, and I did too!

Evin was eating blackberries and my friend Lauren was sitting across from her and snapped this picture.  She sent this to me later and I thought it was so cute!

Poor girl scratched her eye with a toy!  I thought it would turn black, but it was just a bad scratch that scabbed over.

Hangin' in the garage while Mama & Dada pulled weeds in the front yard...not so fun for us!

My mom keeps Evin 3-4 days during the week while Mitch and I are working.  She sent me this picture one morning and I got a good laugh.  Evin was a little messy with her blueberry & yogurt breakfast that morning!

Opening an early birthday present- more cute clothes!

Little Peanut felt pretty yucky a couple of days this week.  She was congested, had a very runny nose, a cough, and just acted like she felt bad.  She was trying to smile, but fussing at the same time, and this pathetic expression was the result.  Poor little girl!

I met my mom & Evin at the doctor and was told it was just a cold, that she didn't have any infection and just to keep on doing what we were doing.
She did like reading one of her favorite books while we waited.

Kyla & Lane came in town for Lane's birthday party {more on that later} and for spring break, and Lane thought washing Mums' windows was incredibly fun.  I am waiting for him to come do mine next!

She had her LAST Synagis shot this month!  I am so glad she doesn't have to have any more doses, and I am sure she is glad too. :)
She watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while we waited to go back to a room.
It was a quicker-than-normal visit this time, so I didn't even take any pictures in the room!
She weighed in just over 17.5 pounds and was 28.5 inches long.  Her sats were a perfect 100%!  I certainly love seeing that number pop up on the pulse oximeter while we are there.

Practicing with a fork

 Peek-a-boo behind the curtain!

Being silly in Elizabeth's glasses!

Her cold just kept getting worse and worse and she (and we!) had some sleepless nights.  I put her in bed with me for some sicktime cuddles one morning, and she fell asleep looking very sweet.

She seemed to be getting a little worse, so I took her to the doctor again, 4 days after the first visit.  This time it was confirmed, she had a double ear infection.  Sickness- go away!

Buds

Lane got this fishing toy for his birthday and Evin thinks it's so fun.  I had to snap a picture to send to her daddy!

Policeman on patrol!

Having a little snack with GiGi.

She loves being bounced on this giraffe chair at GiGi and PawPaw's house.  We get in a good arm workout playing this game!
