One Month Old- 4/20/2013

Evin turned one month old on April 20th, just one week after we brought her home from the hospital.  I have been keeping track of each month's milestones in my phone and I am finally getting around to adding them to the blog.

-Weight: 7 lbs (5th percentile)

-Length:  19 3/4 inches (5th percentile) *This is off from the hospital because she was measured at 20 1/4 inches at birth.  Mitch and I always joke because at every doctor's visit we get a drastically different number for her length.  Some times she shrinks and sometimes she grows over an inch!

-Diaper Size: Newborn

-Shoe Size- ???- she hasn't worn any yet!

-Eating 2.5 ounces every 3 hours.  Will sleep up to 4 1/2 hours at night, wake up, take half a bottle and fall back asleep.  We have to put her down in her bouncer for her to wake up and then she usually takes the rest.

-Very gassy- we think this stems from some of the medicines that she takes.

-Gags easily.  She gags on the pacifier and on the bottle.  We think it is because she was intubated and her throat is very sensitive from having the tube in for an extended period of time.

-Spits up a time or two a day.  This is usually as a result of gagging on the bottle.

-Sleeps in the cosleeper in bed with us.

-Hasn't lost very much of her hair and it seems to be a little lighter than it was when she was born.

-Does pretty well in the carseat unless the car stops, then she fusses immediately!

-Sleeps with her head thrown back (I think she was this way in my belly) and her mouth open.

-Loves:

• Her paci.
• Being swaddled at night and sometimes during naps, or if fussy.
• Being held.  Will be crying and very mad and immediately turns it off if picked up.
