Evin's 1st Birthday- Party Time!

We had Evin's 1st birthday party on Sunday, March 16th, 4 days before her birthday.  My mom very graciously offered to have the party at her house since she has a bit more room than we do.  Also, she had just had Lane's party at her house the weekend before, so she decided to go 2 for 2 and have Evin's there also.

A pre-party family shot.  This girl makes us both so incredibly happy!

Cake/food table- without much food on it yet!

Evin's beautiful cake!  A girl I played volleyball with in high school makes cakes and she made this.  I loved it!

Please take note of the tiny smash cake next to the big cake...

I was obsessed with this little cake.  I loved the gold glitter, the hearts, and everything about it.  So, so cute!

We served sandwiches, fruit with fruit dip, chips, cheese dip, spinach dip, and had cherry limeade and tea to drink.

You can very faintly see the gold glitter in the tulle...that gold glitter ended up EVERYWHERE.

Lots of photos on display

Kyla bought these gold glitter frames at Michael's around Christmas for $4 each.  Major score!  She let me borrow them since they were perfect for the party.
I hung Evin's monthly pictures on the clothesline.  So neat to see how she has grown from a tiny, skinny baby into a big girl that is too busy to hold still for pictures!

Kyla strikes again!  She made this birthday print for the party and also took the picture in the frame.  Will post the rest of the 1 year pictures she took later.

Evin was rather serious during the party.  She is usually more reserved/shy acting around larger crowds of people, so I wasn't surprised that she acted this way.  She didn't cry, but was just Miss Serious the whole time.

Mitch's partner at work, Kaleb, has a little girl that is 6 months older than Evin.  Addison and Evin had met before, but Evin was a tiny babe.  This was their first time to really interact with each other.  It was fun to watch them!

Addison leaning in for a big ol' kiss.

I found these 2 dudes hanging out together.  ;)

For some reason Evin has cried the last couple of times that Lauren held her.  Not this time!  And Lauren was pretty excited- ha!

Uncle A & Aunt E!

Crazy that I've known this girl since 6th grade and now she is coming to my kid's birthday party.  How time flies!

Kyla used a chalkboard sign at Lane's 1st birthday and had everyone write a message on it for him.  She passed the idea down to me.  What a fun way to remember everyone who came to her 1st birthday!

He is a pro at writing his name in capital letters, but is just starting to work on lowercase.
Oh, and that is a heart around his name. :)

Time for presents

New shades!

Lane & Addison were great present-opening helpers

Courtney made the most adorable sign for Evin.  She needs to open an Etsy shop and sell them!
It says, "The hands that made the stars are holding your heart."
So, so sweet and the perfect quote for our girl!

Elizabeth also wrote and illustrated a book for Evin.  Yes, you read that correctly- Elizabeth is super talented!  She wrote the cutest story about a giraffe that has a special zipper scar, just like Evin.  It talks about how she was very sick when she was a tiny baby and how her heart is now mended.  This will be the perfect book to help explain to Evin about her scar and her special heart when she is older.

Kyla gave some precious red Saltwater sandals that I can't wait to get on Evin's foot when it gets warmer.  It doesn't get much cuter than these sandals!

Or maybe it does.  Those sandals with this dress- she will be one stylin' senorita!

Girlfriend got a Cozy Coupe from GiGi & PawPaw!  Look out world, she's ready to cruise the streets in her pink car.

Even though the Snowden's couldn't make it, they left Evin's gift when they were there earlier in the week.  This water table will be perfect for playing outside this summer.  Or for climbing.  Ha!  The older kiddos showed her how it is done.

After presents, we sang "Happy Birthday" to the birthday girl.  This was probably my favorite part of the party.  Everyone was there to celebrate our little miracle baby and her life so far.  Everyone singing to her on her special day made my heart swell with happiness.

I hope the wish she made was a good one!

She was rather cautious when it came to her smash cake and oh-so-delicately dug in.

One finger poke at a time.

"Hm, pretty tasty."

We finally helped her out a little and pushed her hand down into it.  Even then, it was pretty tame!  This is "the aftermath."

College roommates, minus Julie who was on her way home from Italy.  We missed her!

This girl certainly loves to spoil Little E.  And I think Evin loves to be the recipient of the spoiling!

Great-grandparents are pretty great...

...and so are grandparents!

Soon they will have a sweet little girl of their very own.

Kyla, looking great at 36 weeks pregnant!

Thanks for letting us use your house, Mums!

My heart.

She thinks she's soooo big at 1 year old!
{and she is!}

Happy 1st birthday party, Evin Kate!
