Once
again, we can confirm that time has wings.
Evin Kate turned 16 months old on July 20th!
Weight: Close to 20 lbs
Length: About 30 inches
Clothes: 12-18 month fit
best. She is starting to outgrow some of
her 12 month clothes and move to 18 month.
Shoe Size: 3
Diaper Size: 3
Eats 3 meals and 1 or 2
snacks a day. She has days where she
eats a ton and days where I wish she would eat more. It is strange because one day she will eat a
particular food and act like she can’t get enough of it, but will flat out
refuse to eat it the next day.
A few of her favorite
foods:
Cheese
Rice
Beans
Blueberry waffles
Chicken (especially
Chick-fil-a)
Strawberries
Loves food dipped in
ketchup!
Still a Puff fanatic. That is the easiest way to keep her
entertained in a store or a restaurant- give her the snack cup full of
puffs. I try not to do it every time,
but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
She has become more
attached to her pacifier this month. We
have been planning to get rid of it this summer, but things kept coming up
(vacation, illnesses, etc.) that were great excuses to keep putting it
off. We did take it away while riding in
the car, so now she only gets it when she is sleeping in her bed. The big paci removal should happen this next month.
Tooth count: Zero. Zilch.
Nada. Cero. The girl still has no teeth. It’s weird!
Has been sleeping from
about 8:45pm-8:30am (sometimes later!). She
is mostly a good sleeper at night. If
she doesn’t feel well, she is up some at night, but usually does fine.
Takes 1 long afternoon nap
for about 2-3 hours.
I almost always put her in
her bed while she is awake, but drowsy, and she falls asleep easily on her
own. She rarely fusses when I leave her
room, and if she does it is for about 15 seconds and she’s done!
She really likes to be out
and about. If she has too much time at
home she seems to get bored and it results in a fussy girl. She likes going places and seeing people.
SHE TOOK HER FIRST
STEPS! At 15 months 4 days, Evin started
walking. By the end of her first day
walking, she could take about 12 steps at a time. Just like Evin has done with all of her other
milestones, she took walking pretty slowly.
She still crawls quite a bit, because she is SO much faster
crawling. Some days she is fine walking
from place to place on her own, and others she still prefers to hold your hand
and walk.
Gets mad and throws a
little fit if you try to let go of her hand while walking and she doesn’t want
you to. She is starting to test the
waters in the fit throwing department!
She spotted the trash truck in this picture and was determined to get a better look at it. Bear crawling was how she decided she would get there.
She loves swimming and
playing in the water, but she does not like being in her float in Mums’
pool. She is only content if she is
sitting on the steps or if she is being held.
LOVES to say “uh-oh” after
throwing something on the ground.
Also says:
Mama, Dada, Beckham, Baby,
Ball, Book, No No, Car
Will show you her tummy,
hair & toes.
Tells you animal noises
of:
Dog
Cow
Horse
Rooster
Pig
Went on her first vacation
to Lake Palestine with the Armstrongs.
She had a great time and was so good, despite getting sick while we were
there!
Her illness started off
with congestion, red eyes and sneezing.
We thought it was allergies, but it turned into an upper respiratory
infection, fever, and then she developed a rash. We found out later it was Roseola!
Can identify probably
10-12 pictures in her First 100 Words book.
Started going to storytime
at the library this month and did OK her first 2 times. She was a little apprehensive at first, but I
know she will start to open up the more she goes.
Had a big cardiology
appointment this month and got a pretty good report. More details in separate post.
Started giving high fives!
She was less fussy this
month than last month, but she still doesn’t totally seem herself to me.
Church with Evin is
getting more and more difficult!
Loves to wave hello and
goodbye to people, but she likes to be the instigator!
Her favorite “toys” are
things that aren’t toys…she is really into exploring these days! She does still love to read books though. Her favorite books are Whoooo Loves You?,
the Brown Bear books, and lift-the-flap books.
Still loves her baby iPod
and uses it pretty much every time we are in the car. She rests it on her shoulder like it is her
phone. :)
Constantly wants to go
outside.
One of her favorite things
to do is throw things over her shoulder or to the side when she is finished
with them. At least she isn’t doing it
with food anymore!
Loves to shut doors, the
refrigerator, the microwave, etc.
Evin was less fussy this
month than last, and boy, we were happy for that! She still had “off” days and fussy moments,
but overall I would say she was more content.
Evin Kate, we love you and your sweet, funny personality! We couldn’t have anything better in our lives!
