Evanston Visit- Part 1

Just a couple of days into summer break, Evin, Mums and I took off to visit the Coots in Evanston.  They had been there for almost a year, and we had yet to make a visit to see them.  We were excited to see where they had been living for the past year.  Mitch was in the middle of a class, so he had to join us a couple of days into the trip.

Ready for her first flight!

Thank goodness for planes with the Disney option on the TV screens.  Evin was pretty much entertained by Mickey Mouse, snacks, and the drink cart.  This mom of the year basically gave her anything and everything she asked for on the flight, in an effort to keep her from throwing a fit.  She drank about half of my coke.  Because she got whatever she wanted, overall, she was really good on the plane.

We made it!  And this cute guy picked us up at the airport in Chicago.

We arrived around lunch time, so we headed straight to this really cute pizza place called Big Tomato.  The littles were happy to see each other!

The restaurant will make kids a pizza in the shape of a dinosaur, teddy bear, or butterfly.

Really cute, and delicious too!

The WILD trio!

These three...I love them so!

We checked in at the hotel, and Evin loved bouncing on the bed.  The room had floor to ceiling windows that made for perfect picture-taking light.

Love!

The next morning we got up and headed out to Wagner Farms.  They had animals to look at and a barn with fun activities for the kids.  It was chilly when we started the day, so we needed jackets.

Kyla's cute egg collectors.

I think Evin was probably most excited to see the horses.  She stared at them for quite a while!

So much fun with these three!

HA!  This expression cracks me up.

After the farm, we headed to Little Beans, which is a coffee shop and a play place for kids.
Ellis is a Little Beans pro and scooted all over the place.

It didn't take long for Evin to figure things out either.

We went into the bigger kid area, and they had this foam pit that Evin LOVED.  Kyla took this fun slo-mo video.

She wasn't having any fun at all. ;)

She thought she was pretty cool sitting on this little ledge in the hotel room.

That afternoon/evening we walked around and did a little shopping and ate at a delicious Chinese food restaurant.

We borrowed this stroller from one of Kyla's friends so we didn't have to bring ours on the plane.  Lane often hitched a ride like this and Evin didn't mind having a stroller companion.  Cuddly cousins!

We had a fun first couple of days, and we were excited for Mitch to join us.
