13 & 14 months

Since I am so far behind, I am combining Evin’s 13 month & 14 month posts.
{The pictures in her Easter dress were at 13 months, the pictures in the gray & white tank (holding her baby iPod that she refused to put down) were at 14 months.}

Weight:  My guess is around 19 lbs

Length: Around 29 inches?

Clothes: 12 month

Shoe Size:  2

Diaper Size: 3

We slowly started cutting out her bottles starting just a few days shy of 13 months.  She took 3 bottles until she was 13 months 2 weeks, and then dropped down to just a morning and a bedtime bottle.  Soon after that she started refusing her morning bottle, so at 14 months she just takes a bottle before bed.

Eats 3 meals of solids and 1 snack a day.  A very good eater and pretty much eats what we eat now.  Taking Evin places has gotten exponentially easier now that she eats table food and I no longer have to worry about pumping.  It’s so nice!

A few of her favorite foods:
Pizza
Macaroni & cheese
Spaghetti
Fruit- blackberries, blueberries
Peas
Cooked carrots
Bread/pasta
Puffs

We have to limit the number of puffs she eats because I am pretty sure she could eat them ALL day!

I would definitely say pizza is her favorite food.  She is so funny when she eats it too.  You will cut it up and put it on her tray, and she will immediately start shoveling it in, but she also starts looking around to see if there is more on the counter.  My mom said it is like the kids at a pizza party at school who get their first slice and start scarfing it down and asking for more- scared that everyone else is going to eat the rest!

Likes to feed herself with a spoon.  She usually needs help scooping the food up, but likes to put it in her mouth by herself.

Still no teeth!

Loves to drink water from her sippy with a straw.

Sleeps from around 8:45 pm-8:30 am.  She is a pretty good sleeper for the most part.  We have a few rough nights here and there, especially if she isn’t feeling well, but normally if she wakes up at night she will whine for a minute, put her paci back in and go back to sleep.

Some days she still takes 2 naps, but she can also get by with just 1 long (2-3 hours) afternoon nap.

Sleeps on her belly or on her side.  Doesn’t really ever sleep on her back.

Uses her paci to go to sleep and when riding in the car.  She wakes up in the middle of the night looking for it.  I am not looking forward to the day when the paci is taken away…

She is the speediest army crawler ever.  She is able to crawl on her hands as well, but prefers to army crawl since she is faster that way.  Her arms and her knees are always red from rubbing on the carpet so much!

She doesn’t always want to be rocked to sleep like she used to.  Sometimes she prefers to just be put in her bed and she will fuss for a few minutes and then go to sleep on her own.

She has been too busy to play with many toys here recently…she prefers to cruise around the furniture and try to play with everything she isn’t supposed to!  She loves to try to get cell phones, remotes, her video monitor, etc.

Started throwing food off of her high chair.  We will tell her “no” and she looks right at us, picks up another piece and throws it to the side without ever taking her eyes off of us.  That usually earns her a little swat on the hand.  Sassy!!!

Every night after her bath I sit her on the bathroom counter to put lotion on and put her PJs on.  There is a basket on the counter with all the baby bathroom supplies and a few toys.  Every single night she goes through and throws them all on the floor.  I don’t even try to stop her from doing it anymore, because I know I am not going to win that battle!

She loves to be outside.  Especially enjoys riding in her Cozy Coupe car and in the swing she got for her birthday.  She would swing all day if we would let her.  If it is time to get out of either the car or the swing and you hold your hands out to pick her up, she will rock her body forward and backward to try to get it moving again.

She is becoming more social and likes to go out places to watch other people.  She is a nosy girl!

Her hair is getting a little bit curly in the back and I love it!

Still loves books!
Current favorites are:
Ten Tiny Toes
The names & faces book I made her for her birthday that has pictures of family members
Lift-the-flap books

Can say a few words.
Da-da- had been babbling this for awhile, but she actually connected it with her Daddy at 1 year 3 weeks
Beckham (Beb-um) & Mama- both said at about 13 months 1 week
Baby (Ba-bee)

Became a BIG cousin on April 11th when Ellis Paige Coots was born!  She didn’t get to be around her much because you were diagnosed with an ear infection the same day, but after a couple of days she got to be close enough to know that she LOVED her and wanted to touch her!

The ear infection was in her left ear only, and was her 4th one since November.  Way too many!  The pediatrician said if she has one more we might need to go to an ENT to discuss tubes.

Started blowing kisses at 12 ½ months.  It is the cutest thing!  She holds her palm to her mouth and says “mmmmmm-uh!” and throws the kiss to you.  She even blows kisses to strangers occasionally!

We started trying to get her to stand on her own, which she can do for a few seconds at a time. She doesn’t like the feeling at all and immediately sits down.  We tried to keep practicing with her, but she decided she just wouldn’t do it at all anymore…stubborn little toot!

Diaper changes are pretty much impossible.

She started doing this super cheesy grin and it cracks us up.  One day my mom said, “Evin, is that how you are going to smile in your kindergarten picture?”  I hope she does!

Says, “Ehhhhh” in a shrieky voice all.the.time.  It sounds like a bird call.

Started standing on her tip-toes when she wants to see something up high.

Learned to put items in a container instead of just taking them out.

Likes watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Loves to shut doors.  We will be in her room playing and she will always go over and shut the door.  She must like to have privacy!

During these 2 months she went to Austin a couple of times, celebrated Easter, gained another cousin, went to a wedding (and Mommy had to get up with her because she was being rowdy), went to a dance for the school that Mommy is subbing at, and made Mommy feel special on Mother’s Day.

Evin is developing the funniest personality.  She loves to grin, is a little bit sassy, silly and so sweet.  Watching her grow and learn has been incredibly fun and rewarding.  For the most part, she was super happy & easy these past 2 months.  Things have gotten easier as she grows and a happy girl makes it even more stress-free for us!

We love you, little girl!
