Since this was baby #2 for Kyla, we had a very small shower for her before Ellis arrived, and we had a Sip & See after her arrival, on Sunday, June 1st. Ellis was 7 weeks old, which seemed like the perfect age for a Sip & See. She wasn't quite so teeny tiny anymore, but she was little enough that she ended up sleeping most of the time and was easy to pass around. She was so good the whole time!
Ellis wore a pretty smocked dress that was Kyle's sister, Sara's, when she was a baby. Claire, Kyla's mother-in-law, saved it and pulled it out for Ellis to wear someday. The Sip & See seemed like the perfect occasion. She looked like a little doll!
We had the Sip & See at Claire's house. I made a name banner to hang over the fireplace, and the food table was a joint effort.
Claire found the gorgeous pink hydrangeas for the party. They were perfect!
Prepping for party time!
Please take a moment to look at my farmer's tan. Oh my. Sleeveless shirts are about to become more frequent in my wardrobe. I've got to get some sun on those upper arms/shoulders!
Pat, with a sleepy Ellis, and Mums
I was a terrible hostess & was busy chasing Evin around so I didn't get many pictures of all the guests. This was one of the only ones that I got!
Mitch's mom, Linette stopped by to meet Ellis.
She was also a big help in wrangling this chick.
Cheeseball with her beloved iPod.
Bumming some red velvet cupcake off her Momma.
Her pretty little dress ended up getting knotted in the back in order for her to crawl around like she wanted. She got MAD when she tried to crawl and kept getting stuck on her dress.
Making friends.
I'm fairly certain Evin thought this party was for her. She grinned at
everyone and worked the room like she was the main event. She wanted to
walk (with help) everywhere. She walked all over the place grabbing
fingers of people along the way, whether she knew them or not! As long
as they offered her a finger to hold, that was all that mattered to her. Sandals off, dress hiked up, dirty/calloused knees and ready to party.
Kyla & E
Pretty Mommy, Pretty Ellis
Trying to give Ellis hugs & kisses, as usual.
Mums' with her littlest girl. Look at Ellis' sandals! They were hand-me-downs from Evin and were some of my favorites. So tiny and cute!
Claire with her granddaugther
Kyla got lots of cute little outfits for Ellis and also some cold-weather baby gear that will be really useful when the move to Chicago for a year.
My sweetest niece.
It was a great afternoon celebrating this precious girl. So thankful for a sweet & healthy girl that is the perfect addition to the Coots/Tittle/Armstrong family!
